Landscape facing Woodside Road near the Pioneer Inn

I decided to join the Burlingame Plein Air painters meetup today to see if I could overcome my apprehension to oil paint landscapes outside.  I figured it would help to be around some other artists and since it was a beautiful day I decided to give it a go.  After laboring in the sun for 4 hours I produced the following.  I found landscape painting to be quite challenging since there is so much information you really have to force yourself to simplify the scene but I'm happy with the result.  I spent about 30 minutes setting up and just thinking about the composition.
